Beacon Finch ("we", "us", "our") is committed to handling personal data with care and in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) of Malaysia. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have in relation to your data.

This policy applies to personal data collected through our website at beaconfim.pro, through enquiry forms, programme registration, and in the course of delivering our financial education programmes.

1. Data we collect

We collect only information that is necessary for the purposes described in this policy. This includes:

  • Contact details: name, email address, telephone number — provided when you submit an enquiry form or register for a programme.
  • Programme information: which programme you expressed interest in or enrolled in, session attendance records, and any notes taken during sessions with your explicit consent.
  • Financial documents: For the Household Reading Engagement, you may share personal financial documents during sessions. These are handled under strict confidentiality protocols and are not retained beyond the engagement period unless you specifically request otherwise.
  • Website usage data: if analytics cookies are accepted, aggregated information about pages visited and session duration. No individual browsing profiles are created.

We collect data via contact forms on our website, through direct email or telephone, and during programme sessions.

Legal basis for processing: consent (where you have provided it), performance of a contract (when you enrol in a programme), and legitimate interest (responding to enquiries about our services).

Retention: Contact enquiry data is held for 24 months. Programme participant records are held for 36 months after programme completion. Financial documents shared during the Household Engagement are destroyed within 30 days of the engagement closing session unless the participant requests otherwise.

2. How we use your data

We use personal data for the following purposes:

  • Responding to enquiries about our programmes
  • Scheduling and administering programme sessions
  • Delivering programme content appropriate to your situation
  • Sending programme-related communications such as session reminders
  • Improving our programmes based on aggregate feedback

We do not use personal data for marketing purposes without explicit consent. We do not sell personal data to any third party. We do not share personal data with financial institutions, insurers, or fund managers.

3. Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data. We may share data in a limited way with:

  • Service providers: email and scheduling tools used to administer programmes. These providers are required to handle data in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
  • Legal requirements: if required to do so by Malaysian law or by a court order.

Financial documents and personal financial details shared during sessions are never shared with any third party under any circumstances.

4. Data protection measures

We take reasonable steps to protect personal data from unauthorised access, disclosure, or loss. These measures include:

  • Secure encrypted storage for digital records
  • Access to personal data restricted to authorised Beacon Finch staff only
  • Physical documents handled only within the studio and destroyed securely after the retention period
  • Annual review of data handling procedures

In the event of a data breach that may affect your rights, we will notify affected individuals in accordance with the PDPA's requirements.
