Our programmes

Three programmes,
one measured pace

Each programme addresses a different starting point — from a first attempt at saving to a careful household reading of where things stand. All share the same unhurried approach.

How we work

Our approach to all programmes

Every Beacon Finch programme follows a similar underlying structure: an initial meeting to understand the participant's or household's current position, a series of meetings spaced with deliberate intervals for absorption, and a closing conversation that looks at what has changed and what remains open. The exact format varies by programme, but the rhythm — slow, considered, revisited — is consistent across all three.

We do not use standardised slide decks or follow a fixed script. Sessions are responsive to what participants bring into the room. If a participant arrives at the third session of the literacy programme with a question about a letter they received from their EPF, that question takes priority over the planned agenda for that evening. This flexibility requires experienced educators; it is one reason why both lead educators maintain active practice rather than moving into administration.

Small Savings Light Programme

Programme 01

Small Savings Light

Two sessions · One-to-one · RM 440

For adults who have tried and abandoned saving habits before, or who have never started because the right entry point was not clear. The programme does not begin with spreadsheets or targets. It begins with a conversation about what a small monthly amount means in the context of your actual daily life, and what would make it sustainable rather than uncomfortable.

The second session, held after the first month, asks only how it sat with you. Was the amount right? Did anything get in the way? We adjust from there. The goal is not a dramatic change; it is one small practice that holds.

What it includes

  • Initial session: choosing a sustainable saving amount
  • Review session after first month
  • Quiet adjustment if the amount needs changing
  • Delivered at Keramat studio or by video

How it works

  1. 1You contact us and we arrange an initial meeting time
  2. 2First session covers your daily spending and identifies a gentle starting amount
  3. 3You try it for one month in your own life
  4. 4Second session reviews how it went and adjusts quietly if needed

Adult Learner's Financial Literacy Programme

Programme 02

Adult Learner's Financial Literacy

Six weeks · Small group (max 8) · RM 1,580

A structured six-week introduction to financial fundamentals for adults who did not receive this education earlier in life — or who received it but found it did not stick. Weekly two-hour evening meetings at the Keramat studio work through the core topics in a logical sequence, each session building on the previous one.

Groups are capped at eight participants so that questions are welcomed rather than managed. The tone throughout is non-judgemental; there is no expectation that participants arrive knowing anything.

Topics covered across six weeks

  • Reading and understanding your pay slip
  • Household cash flow — where money comes from and where it goes
  • Saving and the meaning of compound growth
  • Introduction to EPF Akaun 1 and Akaun 2, and PRS
  • Personal insurance — what it covers and what to watch for
  • A calm framework for reading financial news

Household Reading Engagement

Programme 03

Household Reading Engagement

Three months · Household · RM 3,650

Structured as a series of reading sessions rather than a delivered plan, this engagement works with a household's actual financial documents — pay slips, bank statements, EPF statements, insurance policies — and moves through them carefully together. It is designed for households who prefer to understand their situation fully before making any changes.

Sessions are held at three-week intervals to allow each meeting to settle before the next. The engagement closes with a short written summary — a document that stays with the household and can be revisited whenever useful.

Engagement structure

  1. 1Listening session — we hear your situation without documents, just conversation
  2. 2First working session — reading current documents and position together
  3. 3Second working session — reviewing what the documents reveal and what to do
  4. 4Closing reading session — receiving and reviewing the written summary
  • Four sessions over three months
  • All household documents handled confidentially
  • Written summary included in programme fee
